I have amassed a lot of experience since returning to Christchurch, New Zealand, last May which range from puppies, mixed dogs and cats, older dogs, guinea pigs, small lifestyle blocks and all of their specific needs including my recent one where I learned about dogs in season a real eye opener! I have been booked through Pawshake recently to dog walk a fairly reactive, older dog I have been really enjoying the challenge and this has given me a start, learning about working alongside the owners and how to proceed with the potential business side of my future pet sitting services . Last year I completed a certificate in Dog Psychology, behaviour and training through The Career Academy and will pursue the certificate in animal care this June and any other courses I can get my hands on. I am working on my own Pet Sitting business, "The Dog Nanny" and I will be up and running in the near future.
About
I am a 52 year old kiwi who has been living "away" for many years in Nova Scotia, Canada and the UK. during this time and had been helping with a home doggy day care, dog walking just before returning in a wee village in Scotland called "Eccelfechen" I returned to New Zealand, Christchurch last year where my son and grandchildren live and along with my husband have been housesitting in this area since last May. I have gained experience and qualifications during this time and have related my past experience as a live in Nanny to the role I play when I have people's beloved pets in my care. I am also a very active person, dog walking is my favourite past time, a great way to get exercise, get to know the dogs in my care and what they need help focusing on as well as being out in nature and seeing the beautiful views in Canterbury (I have been staying in many very beautiful places in Christchurch close to the Port Hills, near the beaches, right by lakes and up very steep hills!
